A big congratulations to graduate students Haoliang Zheng and Kyren Miller for publishing their recent preprint! They used a new chemical approach to optimize peptide inhibitors of protein aggregation and were able to increase the potency of molecules that disrupt the misfolding of the Parkinson's-associated protein alpha-synuclein. Funded by the NIH and Welch Foundation, this was a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative project, including our first joint efforts with Prof. Madalena Ivanova at the University of Michigan.
